Né le 20 Janvier 1969 à Blackwood. Il est le jeune frère du poète et écrivain Patrick Jones.  Il s'est marrié avec son amour d'enfance Rachel en septembre 1993. Il vit à Newport avec Rachel, sa fille Clara, et leur chien Molly.

Le jour de Noël 2005, le site officiel des Manics mit en ligne en téléchargement gratuit une chanson de Nicky " I killed the Zeitgeist".
Il en fut de même en Juin 2006 pour la chanson " Daydreamer Eyes".
En septembre 2006 Nicky sort son 1er album " I killed the Zeitgeist ".
